To celebrate International Education Week and promote the Consulate Education Fair in Can Tho, the American Center, in partnership with the Vietnam Basketball Federation, organized a basketball tournament for students from the Mekong Delta regions. The week-long tournament attracted thousands of students, local government officials, administrators, teachers, and basketball fans. After a preliminary set of elimination games, six winning teams, including Can Tho University of Sport, Can Tho Sport College, Can Tho Technical College, Hau Giang Sport College, Hong Bang University, and Ho Chi Minh City University of Sport, competed in final matches on November 20th. Consul General Bitter watched the final match and presented the champion cup to the winners from Can Tho University of Sport. Speaking at the closing ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Quan, secretary-general of the Vietnam Basketball Federation, said that the tournament has brought people together from around the region.
