Consul General Rena Bitter on July 29 visited the Thuan An Education Center for Children with Disabilities in Binh Duong province to attend the Summer Training Program organized by the US-based Global Foundation For Children With Hearing Loss. During the one month long program from July 7 to August 8, fourteen teaching professionals from the USA and Canada will train 100 Vietnamese teachers, therapists, medical professionals, and audiology technicians on how to help young children with hearing loss learn to listen and talk. The curriculum spans pediatric audiology, early intervention, and auditory verbal practice for children with hearing loss under 6 years of age. “It is really inspiring to see American and Vietnamese professionals working together to try to make a difference in lives of children with disabilities in Binh Duong. These people to people relationships are very important and helps bring our two countries closer together,” said Consul General Rena Bitter.
