Diversity Visa
6 MINUTE READ

General Information

The Immigration Act of 1990 established the Diversity Visa (DV) program, which makes up to 55,000 immigrant visas available worldwide through random selection. The program allows those from countries with low immigration rates to the United States to enter for a chance to apply for a U.S. immigrant visa.

To apply for a diversity visa, follow the steps on the Diversity Visa Process on the Department of State’s website. Please also click on DV Instructions for specific and updated guidance.

Vietnam does not participate to the Diversity Visa Program (also called Visa Lottery).  Therefore, Vietnamese natives cannot register for this program.

If you are not a Vietnamese native and received an email or other communication informing you that you have been selected for this program, you will find general information regarding the Diversity Visa program, click here.  If you have any questions or concerns regarding the scheduling of your Diversity Visa interview in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, click here.
