Events for the Public – March 2014

All of the below events are open for the public. We would like you to plan carefully before registering with us so that we have enough seats for participants. If you register for our events but change your plan, kindly notify us by email to irchanoi@gmail.com. If you would like to be an American Center member, please register.

All events take place at 1st Floor of the Rose Garden Tower at 170 Ngoc Khanh Street, Hanoi, except those noted otherwise.  Remember to take your ID with you.

Conversation Hour

Call it a conversation, or any one of this word’s synonyms – chat, colloquy, converse, dialog, discussion, etc. – this is an hour of informal talk and your opportunity to improve your English speaking and listening skills.  An American host of the hour will introduce a topic and guide you through discussion around it. Come to chat and learn.  Bring your friends and make even more friends!

World Wildlife Day

March 3, 3:00 – 4:30 PM

Join us to celebrate the first globally recognized World Wildlife Day on March 3, 2014! We will begin with a short, thought-provoking film on wildlife conservation in Vietnam.  We will then invite everyone to join in a discussion with the film’s director and environmental experts from local NGOs ENV and PanNature on current conservation policies. So come ask questions, discuss, and learn how you can help change attitudes and behaviors so that future generations can enjoy the beauty of the world’s wildlife to the fullest! Discussion panelists include:

Women in Politics

AND family.  How do women who make important decisions affecting lots of people, and at the same time simply run their families, manage these two important roles?  Tiffany will share with you her insights and personal reflections on the topic.  She also wants to hear from you.  Join the discussion and share your thoughts on this widely debated and discussed subject.

International Day of Happiness
