Individual Donations to Fight COVID-19 in the United States

We have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of support by the government and citizens of Vietnam for COVID-19 response efforts in the United States. On April 16, Ambassador Kritenbrink accepted a donation of 50,000 cloth masks from Minister Mai Tiến Dũng on behalf of Prime Minister Phúc for President Donald Trump.  He also accepted a donation of 200,000 masks from Vice Foreign Minister Bùi Thanh Sơn on behalf of the Government and People of Vietnam.  These masks will be used where they are most needed in the United States to fight COVID-19.

These generous gestures of friendship from the government and people of Vietnam are very much appreciated.

Currently, the U.S. Embassy and U.S. Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City cannot accept small, individual donations of masks or other items.  We are practicing social distancing and do not have staff available to accept your donations.  We can, however, help facilitate the logistics of larger, commercial donations.  If you have questions, send us a direct message on Facebook here.

Should individuals wish to make additional donations, we encourage them to donate to a local or international charity working to mitigate the effects of the COVID-19 virus.
