Launch of Online Fee Payments for Adult Passport Renewals on April 25, 2022

The U.S. Embassy in Hanoi and the U.S. Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City are pleased to announce that effective April 25, 2022, adults using the DS-82 form to renew their passports can pay online and submit their passport and application via mail for processing.  Please see our dedicated page at https://vn.usembassy.gov/renew-passports-by-postal-mail-or-express-drop-off/ for additional information.

If you are eligible for mail-in renewal, you will no longer need to appear in person at either the U.S. Embassy in Hanoi or Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City for an interview with a Consular Officer.

Applicants renewing with the DS-82 may submit payment via U.S. or international credit or debit card, electronic funds transfer from a U.S.-based bank account, Amazon Pay, or Pay Pal by following the instructions on our website.

Currently, the option to pay online is only available to adults renewing a passport book using a DS-82 form. If you are also applying for a passport card, need to report a lost/stolen passport, have a damaged passport, or are applying for renewal for a minor applicant, you will still need to make an appointment on our website, https://vn.usembassy.gov.
