Important Information for U.S. Citizens:
Both the Hanoi People’s Committee and the Ho Chi Minh City People’s committee have issued directives requiring people to wear face coverings in public. A monetary fine may be imposed on people not wearing masks in public.
The U.S. Embassy Hanoi and Consulate General Ho Chi Minh City encourage U.S. citizens to abide by all Government of Vietnam directives, social distancing and hand washing guidelines, and refrain from gathering in large groups. U.S. citizens are reminded that they are subject to Vietnamese laws and regulations while in Vietnam.
