The October Soft Skills Series focused on the monthly theme of “Start Your Business”. Gathering huge crowds of young and energetic students and professionals, the series spanned four sessions – ‘Selling Ideas’, ‘Customer Service’, ‘Planning’, and ‘Networking’. Practical scenarios and activities conducted by consulate officers helped participants map out how to start and run their own businesses successfully.
The series concluded with a capstone project. Participants had to work in a team, using the skills they had recently learned to build a business plan and convince an impartial judge to invest. The four-week series attracted approximately a thousand participants, who said they really enjoyed and found the information from the sessions valuable.
