Preserving Vietnam’s Cultural Heritage

Consul General Announces Ambassador's Fund for Cultural Preservation

On behalf of Ambassador David Shear, Consul General Rena Bitter on January 15 visited the Imperial City of Hue to launch the Ambassador’s Fund for Cultural Preservation project to preserve this unique part of Vietnam’s heritage.  In partnership with the Hue Monuments Conservation Center, the U.S. Mission to Vietnam will support the restoration of three historical alters honoring the ancestors of the Nguyen dynasty.  Hue’s Imperial City is a UNESCO World Heritage site visited by over two million tourists each year.  Through this Ambassador’s Fund project, the U.S. is helping preserve Vietnam’s culture for future generations.
