“TET” 2018 HOLIDAY SCHEDULE
The Nonimmigrant Visa Unit of the U.S. Embassy Hanoi Consular Section will not be open to the public from Wednesday, February 14, 2018 through Tuesday, February 20, 2018 for the Lunar New Year (Tet) holidays.
The Consular Section will reopen to public on Wednesday, February 21, 2018.
To ensure sufficient time to process and return passports back to visa applicants before the Tet holidays, please note the schedule below for submitting applications and scheduling interviews:
- The last day EMS will receive applications for visa renewal by mail: Thursday, February 8, 2018
- The last day to appear for visa interview at the Consular Section: Thursday, February 8, 2018
NOTICE: If you are not traveling to the U.S. urgently, we strongly suggest that you wait until after the Tet holidays to submit your visa application.
Any application that cannot be completely processed will be returned to the applicant by EMS before the Embassy closes for Tet, and the applicant will need to resubmit the application. We are not able to hold passports over the holidays. Please note that you will have to resubmit your application after the Tet holiday via EMS.

LUNAR NEW YEAR “TET” 2018 HOLIDAY SCHEDULE
The Nonimmigrant Visa Unit of the U.S. Consulate General Ho Chi Minh City will not be open to the public from Wednesday, February 14, 2018 through Tuesday, February 20, 2018 for the Lunar New Year (Tet) holidays.
In addition, the Nonimmigrant Visa Unit at the U.S. Consulate General in HCMC will not be open for document submission on the afternoon of Tuesday February 13. The Nonimmigrant Visa Unit at the U.S. Consulate General in HCMC will resume normal business hours on Wednesday, February 21.
The Nonimmigrant Visa Unit will continue processing visa interviews and visa renewals until February 13, 2018. However, if you apply for a visa on or after February 8, 2018, please expect that your passport will be delivered to you after the Tet holiday.
