Request an Emergency Passport

If you have urgent travel plans, we can assist you by issuing an emergency passport.  Such passports will be limited in validity, and cannot be extended (validity depends on the case but maximum validity is up to one year).  Passport holders are required to exchange their limited validity passport for a full-validity photo-digitized passport upon completion of their emergency travel, either through passport facilities in the U.S. or at U.S. Embassies and Consulates abroad.

Please be advised that some countries, such as Indonesia, may have restrictions on travelers entering with a limited-validity U.S. passport.  If your next destination is outside the United States, please review the entry/exit restrictions for that country, by visiting the U.S. Department of State travel page at: https://travel.state.gov/content/passports/en/country.html.
