On May 30, the U.S. Consulate General Ho Chi Minh City hosted the 2nd annual EducationUSA U.S.-Vietnam Joint Programs Mini-Fair with the representation of 16 universities and colleges in southern Vietnam, along with their U.S. counterparts. This fair is unique in Vietnam as it is the only one to focus on joint programs forged between schools in Vietnam and in the United States, which allow students to reduce their study costs by completing some of their degree requirements at home before studying abroad in the United States. Approximately more than 200 students and parents received firsthand information about getting a head start in Vietnam for studying at US universities at reasonable cost.
In her opening remarks, Consul General Rena Bitter highlighted the importance of international education and exchange and encouraged students to take advantage of the EducationUSA services at the Consulate. Consular Chief David McCawley also gave updated information on how to successfully prepare for the student visa interview.
