HANOI, October 5, 2022 – On October 4, the U.S. Embassy hosted the EducationUSA Higher Education Fair in Hanoi.  Opening the fair, Cultural Attaché Kate Bartlett said, “The U.S. Mission to Vietnam is here to support you in realizing your dreams, as are the colleges and universities represented here today.  They are here because they understand that Vietnamese students bring immense talent and dedication and contribute significantly to their student body.”

60 U.S. universities and colleges offering strong, accredited undergraduate and graduate programs in hundreds of different majors participated in this event, organized by EducationUSA for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic.  The fair brought together more than 1,000 students, parents and professionals with representatives from U.S. universities, who provided the latest information about degree programs, career perspectives, scholarships, and financial aid for international students.  At the fair, an Embassy officer provided updated information on student visas and optional practical training programs for international students.  Prospective undergraduate and graduate students also had the opportunity to learn more about standardized tests used for admissions decisions and merit-based scholarships at U.S. universities and colleges.

As the United States and Vietnam prepare to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the Comprehensive Partnership next year, we are proud to remain one of the top destinations for Vietnamese students.  Currently, the United States welcomes nearly 30,000 Vietnamese students on American campuses.  Vietnam is the sixth leading place of origin for international students studying higher education in the United States.

EducationUSA is a U.S. Department of State-supported network of over 430 advising centers in more than 175 countries.  EducationUSA Advisors provide Vietnamese students and parents with accurate, comprehensive, and current information about how to apply to accredited U.S. colleges and universities.  All services are free.  Any student or parent with questions about studying in the United States can contact EducationUSA at Hanoi@educationusa.org.
