The United States is committed to support Vietnam in combating Covid-19.

Total contribution = $ 20.9 million + technical assistance + 5 million Moderna vaccine doses

From USAIS: $ 12.5 million

  • $ 4.7 million: Infection prevention and control, laboratory strengthening,
    and community engagement
  • $ 5 million: Small and medium enterprise economic recovery, and access to finance
  • $ 2.8 million: 100 ventilators for Vietnam’s COVID hospitals

From CDC: $ 7.2 million

  • Clinical and laboratory equipment, supplies, and trainings across 30+ provinces
  • National guidance for expanding COVID-19 vaccination, testing, and treatment
  • Field investigations, data analysis, and surveillance to contain outbreaks

From DOD: $ +1.2 million

  • $ 188,000: 2 PCR test machines + lab equipment for mobile COVID-19 testing
  • $ 691,000: 77 medical-grade ultra-low-temperature freezers for vaccine storage
  • $ 360,000: 2 DNA Sequencing machines that identify COVID-19 variants
