Medical Examination and Vaccinations

Starting October 1, 2021, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control will require that panel physicians include COVID vaccinations as part of the larger visa medical evaluation process.  This new process will not impact those that have already begun the medical examination process prior to October 1, nor those that already have their visas and plan to travel after October 1.

As soon as you have your interview appointment date, you must visit one of the Consulate’s designated panel physicians for your medical examination and vaccinations.

Please follow the two steps below:

Please visit one of our designated Panel Physicians listed below to undergo a medical examination before receiving vaccinations. Please bring: 1) the Appointment Letter (PKT4) you received by postal mail or e-mail which includes your case number, 2) the DS-260 confirmation page(s), 3) all original passport(s), 4) cash or credit/debit card to pay for the medical examination processing fee (s), and 5) a copy of each applicant’s vaccinations records that you had in the past, if available. Any medical examination fees, including x-ray and blood test fees, must be paid directly to the examining physician. Please refer to our fees page at: https://vn.usembassy.gov/ivfee for costs associated with your medical examination.

In some cases, it may take longer and the Panel Physician may send your medical examination results directly to the Consulate. Please note that the examining physician will discuss the medical results and any required follow-up treatment with you. You must perform any follow up treatment at the Panel Physician’s office.
